Be part of the most valuable international conference for digital cinematography.

ODCC2017

From September 8th to 10th, many cinematographers and industry experts from around the globe come together in Norway for the 6th edition of the Oslo Digital Cinema Conference. One of the most valuable conferences for digital cinematography organized by colleagues of the IMAGO and Norwegian Society of Cinematographers (FNF). Attend interesting lectures and discussions, gain knowledge of the latest technological developments and production methods, plus get in touch with over 200 international colleagues, industry experts, and equipment manufacturers.

The main mission of the Oslo Digital Cinema Conference is to share information and inform each other about the latest developments in cinematography, to discuss and find solutions to topics of common interest. This conference distinguishes itself from the competition by letting cinematographers determine the content themselves.

This year’s main topics among others are:

  • The impact, development, and future of ACES (the Academy Color Encoding System) and HDR. ACES is HDR-capable: top grading artists will show their post-production process of a new HDR production.
  • The future generation of imaging: new recording techniques, 8K sensors, and new high-sensitive cameras.
  • Master classes with well-known cinematographers.
  • The theater of the future with the next generation of cinema LED screens.
  • Camera and equipment manufacturers will present their latest developments and give hands-on demonstrations.
  • Discussions about creative cinematography and camera control, the challenge of restoring and archiving our images for future generations, remote cinematography, the latest VR and VFX developments, to just mention some of this year’s topics.

The Norwegian Film Institute will form the main location of the conference during the daytime. In evenings, there will be social gatherings in the city. A good opportunity to tie bonds and create worldwide networks for the future.

NSC members pay only NOK 950 (€100) participation fee: which includes coffee for all days, Saturday’s and Sunday’s lunch and dinner with a party afterward on Saturday. There will be several of grants to cover free entrance for NSC members with extensive travel costs.

The IMAGO will release the full program on August 10th, so keep an eye on the IMAGO-website or the newsletter for more information and updates.
